Betting With, and Against, Senza Parole in the Frizette Stakes
A total of 10 two-year-old fillies will vie in Saturday’s $400,000 Frizette S. (G1) at Aqueduct. The Breeders’ Cup "Win and You’re In" affair will give the victress a spot in the starting gate of the Juvenile Fillies (G1) at Del Mar on Nov. 1. Electric debut winner #8 Senza Parole (3-5) is the one to beat.

50-cent superfecta 3 with 8 with all with 2,6 ($7)The Don Alberto homebred was unveiled at Saratoga during Travers weekend and sizzled home a powerful, 7 3/4-length winner in a six-furlong dash on the main oval. Trained by Chad Brown, the daughter of Gun Runner earned a hefty 98 Brisnet Speed number for her work, and negotiating one mile seems well within her scope if her first outing was any indication. The April foal drilled a fast four panels on the Oklahoma in her latest morning move and will be formidable with any improvement off of her last with Irad Ortiz Jr. returning to the saddle.
Godolphin homebred #3 Pondering (12-1) was a fine winner at first asking in a dash at Ellis Park, but she didn't build upon that effort in the Spinaway S. (G1) for Brendan Walsh. The bay daughter of Hard Spun seemingly didn’t like the muddy strip at Saratoga, and going six-wide in the stretch likely didn’t help matters much, so I’ll give her a pass for that performance. I expect big improvement from the March foal under Flavien Prat and envision the filly to sit off of a fast early pace to the top of the lane.
Trainer Saffie Joseph has a pair of players for the race, and his duo are logical threats to the favorite. #6 Paradise City (12-1) owns just a debut win to her credit and is the less accomplished filly from the barn, but I really like the way that the daughter of McKinzie graduated at Gulfstream Park. The $105,000 juvenile buy came home swiftly in the heat and is bred to handle the distance for a trainer enduring an excellent 2024. Manny Franco inherits the mount.
Adirondack (G3) romper #2 The Queens M G (10-1) has the best resume in the field and wouldn’t be a major surprise for Joseph. The daughter of Thousand Words has never earned a healthy Brisnet Late Pace number while sprinting and is a major question mark at one mile, but she has obvious class and will save a lot of ground near the rail beneath Dylan Davis.
