From Wednesday night to Thursday afternoon, the NBA, NHL, and NCAA took immediate action to cancel or postpone games and tournaments in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Below is a list of all the sports leagues impacted by COVID-19.

March Madness is canceled

On Thursday, the college basketball world was turned upside down when the NCAA made the unprecedented decision to cancel March Madness.

One by one, reports flooded in yesterday that several conferences had called off their own tournaments. In the Big East, St. John's and Creighton found out at halftime that the conference had decided to cancel all remaining games.

It soon became clear the Big Dance would become affected, too. Originally, the NCAA had planned to move forward with March Madness but limit attendance, until the severity of the coronavirus had increased throughout the nation. This will be the first time since the NCAA Tournament's inception in 1939 that the postseason competition has been canceled.

The NCAA canceled all other winter and spring championships, as well.

NBA season suspended indefinitely

The NBA is now on lockdown indefinitely, as well, after Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday night. Gobert had felt sick ahead of the Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder's game, and his illness prompted officials to abruptly cancel the matchup moments before tipoff.

Later that evening, the NBA decided to postpone the season for at least 30 days and will re-evaluate the league's suspension next month.

NHL season suspended indefinitely

Following suit with the NBA, the NHL announced Thursday that it would suspend the regular season in light of the coronavirus pandemic. League commissioner Gary Bettman said he hopes games can resume as soon as it is appropriate.

MLB season suspended, Spring Training canceled

Thursday afternoon, the MLB suspended operations and announced the delay of Opening Day, which had been set for March 26. The season will now start no earlier than April 9.

The league also canceled the remainder of spring training.

Professional soccer leagues suspended indefinitely

Following Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi's COVID-19 diagnoses, the Premier League, Champions League, and Europa League all postponed games.

The Premier League has halted play for the remainder of the month. It's unclear when the Champions League Round of 16 will resume.

Major League Soccer has also suspended match play for at least 30 days.

Players Championship canceled, Masters postponed

At the conclusion of the first round of The Players Championship, the PGA Tour announced the remainder of the tournament had been canceled. The professional golf organization also canceled all PGA Tour events leading up to the Masters, including the Valspar Championship and Valero Texas Open.

Golf's first major, which was set for April 9, has also been postponed for a later date, to be determined.

NASCAR event postponed

Around noon on Friday, March 13, NASCAR announced the postponement of race events at Atlanta Motor Speedway that weekend and Homestead-Miami Speedway the following weekend.

Formula 1 event canceled

The racing world was further shaken up by Formula 1, when it decided to postpone the Bahrain Grand Prix, originally scheduled for March 20-22, and the Vietnam Grand Prix, set for early April.

Bellator fight postponed

Bellator MMA had planned to go on as scheduled with its Bellator 241 event on Friday evening at Mohegan Sun Arena, though fans could not attend. Then Friday afternoon, Bellator president Scott Coker revealed that the event had been postponed.

ATP tennis

Thursday, the Women's Tennis Association cancelled the Miami Open and Volvo Car Open in Charleston, South Carolina, plus two international tournaments.

On the men's side, the ATP announced a six-week suspension of play for its tour and lower-level ATP Challenger Tour.

XFL canceled

Late Thursday night, Vince McMahon's XFL league announced that regular-season games would no longer be played at this time. The league had been scheduled to play through the championship on April 26.

On a positive note, the XFL stated that all players would still receive their base pay and benefits for the 2020 season, while all ticket holders would be issued refunds or credits for remaining games.

It's still unknown whether McMahon will postpone or cancel WWE's WrestleMania, scheduled for Sunday, April 5.
