When is the Kentucky Derby

Saturday, April 26 | Opening Night

A night of horse racing to celebrate the 151st Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks post position draws with dress inspired by the Great Gatsby centered in the 1920s. 

Sunday & Monday, April 27 & 28 | Dawn at the Downs

A cherished tradition where horse enthusiast come to watch Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby horses during their morning workouts. 

Tuesday, April 29 | 502'sDay

This honorable event sheds a spotlight on the community of Louisville, with this year's event honoring Louisville's own Muhammad Ali. 

Wednesday, April 30 | Winsday

A brand new event made to honor nonprofits. Guests can directly donate to local nonprofits, with a portion of each ticket sale benefiting their incredible work, as well. 

Thursday, May 1 | Thurby

A must attend event for history buffs, racing enthusiasts and music lovers to celebrate Kentucky's rich and deep-rooted traditions.

Friday, May 2 | Kentucky Oaks

This event features non other than the Kentucky Oaks, a premier race for three-year-old fillies to shine. Oaks day is also a celebration of breast cancer awareness as many honor those by wearing various shades of pink. 

Saturday, May 3 | Kentucky Derby

This day really needs no introduction. It is a day full long-running traditions, with Churchill celebrating the 151st running of the Kentucky Derby. It goes by many names, Run for the Roses, the Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports, or America's Race, but one thing is certain — it's bound to be an exciting day of racing.
