Gulfstream Park, Race 8: Optional claiming (5 furlongs on turf, 4:46 p.m. ET)

#11 Notorious R B G, a great hunch play for fans of the spicy Supreme Court justice, won her debut on Gulfstream’s turf and has the highest last-race Brisnet speed rating.

She is trained by quality turf trainer Christophe Clement and jockey Tyler Gaffalione stays in the saddle. R B G’s sire and dam are both multiple graded stakes winners and each won a Breeders’ Cup race. 

#5 Shippy returns to racing after she competed in a pair of graded stakes at Saratoga last summer. In the first of those, she was bumped and finished three-quarters of a length behind the winner. She won her debut at Laurel by 10 lengths and notched the highest Brisnet speed rating in this field. This race will test if she likes the turf and can handle her first start off a layoff.
