Accelerate tops Breeders’ Cup Future Wager Classic pool, Monomoy Girl favored in Distaff pool

Pacific Classic (G1) hero Accelerate (#1) and Kentucky Oaks (G1) queen Monomoy Girl (#14) were each bet down to 3-1 during the inaugural Classic and Distaff pools of the Breeders’ Cup Future Wager.

The two pools, which featured 23 individual betting interests and a 24th “All Others” wagering selection, ended Sunday. Accelerate topped the Classic pool at 3-1, with Travers Stakes (G1) victor Catholic Boy (#5) the second favorite and only other interest to close at single-digit odds when bet down to 7-1.

Abel Tasman (#1) and Elate (#7) were also bet down to single-digit odds after running 1-2 in Saturday’s Personal Ensign Stakes (G1) at Saratoga. The former closed as the 3-1 second choice while Elate attracted odds of 5-1.
