All Quarter Horse Card at Indiana Grand on Saturday, June 4

Quarter Horse racing in the state of Indiana continues to thrive and the first of six All Quarter Horse cards at Indiana Grand will run Saturday, June 4.  Ten races are set, including trials for the Gordon Mobley Futurity as well as the Jaguar Rocket Futurity.

The $150,000-added Gordon Mobley Futurity will be one of the first stakes to be featured during the season, with the final to be contested Saturday, June 18. The Mobley Futurity, one of Indiana’s richest Quarter Horse races that generally edges close to the $200,000 mark, will be joined by the $100,000-added Jaguar Rocket Stakes. Both events, slated for 300 yards, will feature the ten fastest qualifiers from trials Saturday night.

Last year, Megatron Harry won the Gordon Mobley in a final time of :15.672 seconds, setting a new stakes record,  The the old mark was set by Doc Special and Harold Collins in 2012 in a time of :16.130.

The final all-Quarter Horse night set for Saturday, Oct. 22 will feature finals of four stakes races, including the $150,000-added Miss Roxie Little Futurity for two-year-old Indiana bred horses. The 350-yard event will be joined by the $100,000-added Governor’s Stake, the $100,000-added QHRAI Derby and the $75,000-added Indiana Championship to complete a full night of Quarter Horse racing.

Indiana Grand Racing & Casino  began its 14th season of live Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing on Tuesday, April 16. The 120-day racing season boasts 20 stakes for the sprinters with estimated purses of more than $1.5 million offered during the season that features six all-Quarter Horse racing nights.
