#1 CONNIE K (12-1): The five-year-old Street Sense granddaughter won three straight at today’s distance under Jon Court from November 2021 to March 2022, including a stakes victory in the Downthedustyroad Breeders' S. at this track, then fell short in an allowance optional claimer in sloppy conditions before stretching out to a mile and finishing a distant second. In her last two, she won a 5 1/2-furlong allowance and came home second by three-quarters of a length last out in a starter optional claimer on Dec. 30 at this track, where she is 6-3-3-0 lifetime. Trainer Randy Morse is a 20% winner with beaten favorites but just a 7% winner in non-graded stakes and has gone 0-for-23 this meet. Court will hop back in the saddle and is just a 7% winner in his last 237 sprint rides.

#2 HOT AND SULTRY (9-5): The four-year-old Speightster filly has never finished worse than second in four career tries and will now make her second start with trainer Norm Casse, a 38% winner this meet. The dark bay finished 2 1/4 lengths in second last out when racing at today’s distance over muddy ground but has never lost on a fast track. David Cabrera, just a 7% winner this meet in 107 races, will stay in the irons.

#3 I’M THE BOSS OF ME (8-1): The Midshipman mare came home 5 1/2 lengths back in fourth in the Poinsettia S. at last asking, finishing 3 1/4 lengths behind second-place finisher Sarah Harper, who re-opposes here. Prior to that, I’m the Boss of Me scored two victories and a distant third at today’s distance since joining the barn of Greg Compton, a 14% winner this meet and a 16% winner with sprints. Francisco Arrieta will retain the mount and wins at a 21% rate with pacesetter types. The bay five-year-old owns a 9-3-1-3 record at today’s distance and a 5-2-0-1 mark at Oaklawn.

#4 LISETTE (20-1): The Uncle Mo five-year-old has finished fifth and sixth by a combined 16 1/4 lengths since moving to the barn of D. Wayne Lukas. She’s eligible to improve here in her third start off a layoff, but her most recent Speed rating (79), recorded at today’s distance, is far below the par winning speed figure for today’s race conditions. Lukas is only a 9% winner with horses running sprint distances and a 6% winner in non-graded stakes. Mickaelle Michel, who is 3-for-20 paired with Lukas over the last two months, will pick up the mount. The dark bay mare is also 0-for-2 at today’s distance and 0-for-2 at Oaklawn.

#5 SARAH HARPER (7-5): The Ron Moquett pupil has placed in her last three since switching back to dirt and finished third at today’s distance in an allowance optional claimer three back at Keeneland. The Medaglia d’Oro granddaughter most recently posted a 95 Brisnet Speed rating — the highest last race speed figure among the field — when second by two lengths to Grade 3 winner Pretty Birdie in the 5 1/2-furlong Poinsettia. Moquett is a 25% winner this meet and boasts an 11-3-1-3 record paired up with jockey Rafael Bejarano over the last 14 days.

#6 PERFECT HAPPINESS (7-2): A granddaughter of Harlan’s Holiday, Perfect Happiness has hit the board in all four starts since she was claimed by Chris Hartman in March 2022. The six-year-old most recently recorded an 85 Brisnet Speed rating when third by a length in the 5 1/2-furlong Pan Zareta S. at Fair Grounds, in which she set the pace but was headed by an outer rival at the sixteenth pole and was nailed at the wire for place. The winner of that race, Oeuvre, won the Nelson J. Menard Memorial S at her next start. At today’s distance, Perfect Happiness has a 15-3-7-1 record with a career-best 94 Brisnet Speed rating. She’s also 9-2-1-1 at Oaklawn, where Hartman is a 39% winner this meet. Nik Juarez (18% winner at Oaklawn) will inherit the mount and is 5-for-12 paired with Hartman over the last two months.
