Assiniboia Downs Pick 4 for Wednesday, June 15

TwinSpires is back with another Pick 4 ticket for Assiniboia Downs’ Wednesday night racing in Winnipeg.

On Tuesday night, we built a $36 ticket that was live until the final race of the evening, where #4 Big Time Gizmo beat out our selections, 1.90-1 post-time favorite Give a Little and second choice 2.55-1 Mischievous Devil. The $1 Pick 4 paid $186.55.

We’ll look to rebound on Wednesday with a $36 Pick 4 ticket, beginning with Race 4, at 10:05 p.m. ET.

Race 4: 5 1/2 furlongs, for maidens, three years old and up

#8 Hannigan (7-5) will make his second start for trainer Michael Nault, a 20% (2-for-10) winner to start the meet, after finishing seventh as the heavy favorite in a five-furlong maiden special weight at Assiniboia Downs on June 1. The three-year-old gelding should benefit from a rider switch with Jorge Carreno (6-for-20 this meet) picking up the mount. Nault is a 23% winner with horses beaten as the favorite last out, but just a 6% winner with horses making their second start with the trainer.

That’s why we’re including #5 King Witt (5-1), one of two runners for Jerry Gourneau, a 13% winner this meet. The dark bay three-year-old came home second last out on June 7 in a five-furlong maiden claimer and will ride under Chavion Chow, a 12% winner at Assiniboia Downs who visited the winner’s circle twice on Tuesday night, including once with Gourneau after guiding six-year-old Contraband to a victory.

Race 5: 5 1/2 furlongs, for fillies and mares three years old and up

#8 Landry Kyle (3-1) finished third in her most recent outing, a $5,000 claimer at this track, where she bested a number of today’s rivals, including #9 Sky Vue, #5 Zig, #2 Dont Get Smart, and #6 Bye Y’all.

We’ll play the five-year-old mare with #3 Back Inthat Action (4-1), who makes a move up in class for Gourneau after winning a five-furlong claiming race, in which the four-year-old clocked a 70 Brisnet Speed figure, the highest last race speed rating among the field.

We’ll also throw in intriguing 10-1 choice #10 Kickalittlebooty, who will make her first start of the season on Wednesday and gets Carreno in the saddle. Conditioner Brent Hrymak is a 20% winner with sprint races and a 26% winner at the claiming level.

Race 6: 5 1/2 furlongs, for three-year-olds and up

#1 Wicked Fortitude (5-2) makes his second start for hot trainer Jared Brown (21% winner this meet) following a second-place showing by 2 1/2 lengths in a five-furlong allowance optional claimer at this track on June 1. The five-year-old gelding is 7 2-2-2 in 2022 and clocked a 77 BRIS figure last out. Carreno in the silks should help the Wicked Strong son get back to the winner’s circle in his second try at Assiniboia Downs. Brown is a 25% winner with horses in their second start off the claim and has gone 3-for-11 when paired up with Carreno over the last 11 days.

But #7 Maybe Sometime (3-1) also looked sharp in a five-furlong allowance optional claimer on June 1 and beat rival #5 Goldeneyed (7-1) by 1 1/2 lengths and #4 Shootin Money (8-1) by another 1 3/4 lengths.

#6 McKague (6-1) could also benefit from the cut back in distance for Carl Anderson, a 17% winner in allowance races, while #10 Fair Challenge (12-1) could improve in his second start for Marvin Buffalo, a 38% winner this meet. High-percentage jockey Leonel Camacho-Flores will retain the mount after getting a win aboard Fair Challenge in a $5,000 claimer on June 1.

Race 7: 5 1/2 furlongs, for three-year-olds and up

#4 Warbridge (5-1) was 9 3-3-0 last season and beat #6 Hot Rodin (3-1) by a half-length the last time he raced 5 1/2 furlongs, on Sept. 13 at Assiniboia Downs. Trainer Tom Gardipy Jr. is a 16% winner this meet and 18% winner with horses coming off long layoffs.

We’ll play Warbridge with 3-1 favorite #6 Hot Rodin, who is 25 13-4-3 lifetime at Assinibioa Downs.
