Australian horse racing picks for Moruya and Wyong

May 13th, 2020

As we count down the days to the much-anticipated return of racing at Churchill Downs on Saturday, there are plenty of opportunities to build a bank playing racing from Australia!

There are four Aussie Thoroughbred meetings and two Aussie harness meetings available for BetAmerica horseplayers tonight.

Here are some picks for the New South Wales meetings at Moruya and Wyong.

Moruya, Race 1: #11 Undeniable

This is a lightly raced filly, who has been racing consistently in her three runs back this campaign. She has been steadily improving, and trainer Luke Hilton has found a winnable race for Undeniable to break through for her first win tonight.

The 3-year-old has drawn well to get an inside run behind the pace. In her five starts, she has never raced on a good-rated track, but she will get the firmer surface tonight. Undeniable will also wear blinkers for the first time, which should put her mind on the task at hand. She certainly has race fitness on her side and should be fighting to the finish!

It might also be worth considering #9 Vinaigrette in an exacta.

Wyong, Race 3: #1 Anders

This chestnut colt, from the stable of Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, put in a brave performance in his last start at Kembla Grange. After a start from a wide barrier, he was in an early speed battle and then over raced. Even with that setup, he looked the winner for much of the straight but was just run down by one better on the day.

Anders has a much more favorable gate tonight, so he won’t have nearly as much work to do. He’ll be fitter from that last run, which was his first back from a break, and the crossover nose band will go on for the first time.

Expect him to lead and be very tough to hold out.
