Australian Pick 3 for Canterbury on May 5

A couple photo-finish beats stifled our Pick 3 play in Australia last week after a promising start with an 8-1 in the first leg, but we're back at it for the seven-race card at Canterbury in suburban Sydney on Tuesday evening (U.S. time).
First post at Canterbury ("Australia C") is 10:50 p.m. ET, with the below Pick 3 sequence kicking off at midnight. At this writing, the course condition is "Soft 5."
- 10:50 p.m. ET card begins
- 12:00 am ET Pick 3 sequence begins
- Pick 3: Races 3, 4, 5
- Labeled as 'Australia C'
Race 3
#4 APRIL THUNDER (7-1) resumes after nearly four months on the shelf. A promising third at Randwick in December, she followed up several weeks later at Warwick Farm where she was wide throughout and was bumped and carried even wider more than a quarter-mile from home. Remains with upside. #8 LADY HERBERT (9-1) perhaps has less of the aforementioned upside than some of these with six starts under her belt, but can move forward off recent narrow loss at Newcastle and has run well on the metropolitan circuit before.
Race 4
#3 CHOCOLATIER (18-1) turned in a sharp performance first up at nearly identical conditions last November, and simply wasn't as effective when stretched out in three subsequent outings. Potentially one to catch if he flashes that kind of speed off the spell. #10 STARLA (15-2) enters with less fanfare than stablemate #6 Earth Song here, but beat that filly here in the spring and latest was a step in the right direction after a slow start to her autumn campaign. #11 KAVALMO (14-1) also from Waller and, like Starla, might not have been too keen on the heavy going at Warwick Farm two back. Bounced back with a stronger run last time out in the provinces. Had some betting support in a pair of G3s last spring and might yet have some potential.
Race 5
Group 3-placed #4 REFORMIST (11-2) came back with a winning run at Kembla Grange 2 1/2 weeks ago and could get a favorable pace setup here to make it two in a row. #7 MONTE DITTO (11-1) endured a little trouble in each of his past two starts. Consistently in the frame over this course throughout the summer.
The minimum ticket cost is 20 cents, but we'll invest our standard 60 cents here.

- 4,8 with 3,10,11 with 4,7 = $7.20
