Australian Pick 3 for Warwick Farm on Apr. 28

A Tuesday night Pick 3 play near Sydney
Although coming up a bit short in our attempt at Canterbury last week, we'll take another look at the mid-card Pick 3 sequence in Australia Tuesday night. Racing in metropolitan Sydney shifts to Warwick Farm, with first post at 10:50 p.m. ET and the first leg of the Pick 3 scheduled for midnight. At this writing, the course is rated "Good 4."
Race 3
With forward progress second up after a half-length defeat over this course and trip earlier this month, #3 MAGGIE MISS (7-2) figures hard to beat. Although top weight in the field, #1 JAY JAY D'AR (11-1) has been working her way back to fitness up at Gold Coast and showed competitive form on this circuit in September.
Race 4
The late-developing and regally-bred #9 Archanna figures to be all the rage coming off an impressive debut win here a little over two weeks ago, but some more experienced rivals look capable enough with their best. We'll stand against her while going five-deep.
#2 PETRONIUS (13-2) could come a bit short in his resumption after five months, but has fired well in the past including a second-place effort in a shorter event over this course in November. #6 MISSION DREAM (13-1) is another returning from a spell dating back to December, but ran a quick 7 furlongs in breaking his maiden over Randwick's Kensington course.
Three fillies also merit a look. #10 SPECIAL SNAP (9-1) obviously fond of this track and was second-best against similar. #11 LILLEMOR (13-1) ran swiftly in breaking her maiden at Wyong and will race prominently. #13 STEEL DIAMOND (66-1) has fared poorly in her last two, but showed promise early in her career and was stakes-placed this track when last tried over it.
Race 5
#3 HARPO MARX (3-1) found running room too late at Canterbury last week going 1 3/16 miles, but should find this stretch out to 12 furlongs more his game. European form virtually towers over this field. #4 TERWILLIKER (18-1) gradually racing himself back into shape with a trio of shorter preps this fall going into this. Another who figures suited by this 1 1/2-mile trip.
The Pick 3 minimum is 20 cents and the wager is available in 20-cent increments.
We'll play a 60-cent ticket:
- 1,3 with 2,6,10,11,13 with 3,4 = $12
