Australian racing picks for Rosehill and Flemington
With the return of racing at Churchill Downs tomorrow, we better build a bank on Australian racing tonight!
There are four Aussie Thoroughbred meetings available for BetAmerica horseplayers tonight, including the Gold Coast, Rosehill, Flemington, and Ascot. The first race from the Gold Coast kicks off nice and early, at 9:19 p.m. ET.
Here are picks for Rosehill, which starts at 9:35 p.m. ET, and Flemington, which gets underway at 9:45 p.m. ET.
Rosehill, Race 2: #2 Fanciful Toff
This Victorian stayer came up to Sydney last year around this time and won a 1 1/2-mile race at Randwick, and she can follow the same successful path this year at Rosehill.
Fanciful Toff’s last run in the Terang Cup was impressive. He finished second, behind a smart one called Too Close To The Sun, who subsequently defeated a strong field to claim the Warrnambool Cup a couple weeks later.
Queen Elizabeth II was happy to hear that racing in Australia has kept going!

Did you know that Warrnambool Cup winner Too Close The Sun was sired by her horse Carlton House? pic.twitter.com/TH6L63Pbq9
The extra furlong tonight will suit Fanciful Toff, and we already know he handles the clockwise direction of New South Wales racing, versus the counterclockwise racing in his home state of Victoria.
Another bonus is that gun Sydney jockey Hugh Bowman will be aboard.
Those 13-2 morning-line odds look very attractive!
Flemington, Race 3: #6 November Dreaming
This New Zealand-bred filly is from the stable of reigning Melbourne Cup (G1) winning trainer Danny O’Brien. She disappointed as the favorite at Adelaide’s premier track, Morphettville, last start.
If we go two starts back, she was a dominant winner over the mile at Pakenham. November Dreaming returns to her home state of Victoria tonight, and she looks like she will enjoy the sweeping straight of Flemington.
She will also be reunited with champion Melbourne rider Craig Williams.
Her morning-line odds of 5-1 look spot-on.
Hope you find a few winners playing the Aussie races tonight!
