Australian horse racing picks for Royal Randwick

We are coming down off the highs of The Everest, but the carnival will continue to roll from Royal Randwick tonight, with the feature race the $1 million Bondi S.!

There are three other Australian Thoroughbred meetings available for BetAmerica players to enjoy, including Doomben and Gold Coast in Queensland, and Kembla Grange in New South Wales.

Here are a couple picks for the big meeting at Royal Randwick!

Race 1: #2 Jumbo Goal

This son of Exceed And Excel is a first-time starter from the barn of Gary Moore.

The 2-year-old colt ran very well in a trial at Randwick and looked like he could have finished a lot closer, if not for a strong hold from jockey Nash Rawiller.

The winner of that trial was a horse we tipped here at BetAmerica last week, Captivant. It just so happened Captivant went and won on debut, so the from around that trial is strong.

I’m not sure we’ll get anything close to those 14-1 morning-line odds, but we can live in hope!

Race 6: #1 Peltzer

I’m sticking with the favorite, Peltzer, in the Bondi S.

This son of So You Think has been in absolutely magnificent form, especially when he won the Stan Fox (G2) at Randwick last time out. He defeated a number of his main rivals in tonight’s race in the Stan Fox, and I see no reason why he can’t do it again.

Peltzer loves Randwick. He has won at all three attempts on Sydney’s premier track. The extra half-furlong should suit him, too. Look out for him to lead from gate to wire!
