Australian Spot Plays for Randwick on Apr. 14

Following a special Easter Monday card at Warwick Farm, a busy week of racing in Sydney continues with action over Randwick's Kensington course on Tuesday evening U.S. time (first post is 10:50 p.m. ET). 

After a couple maiden events for 2-year-olds kick off the card, we'll dive into spot play for the middle of the card. Randwick is the "Australia C" option at TwinSpires.com.

Race 3

#3 WELSH LEGEND (4-1) did not turn in an effective closing kick against similar at Rosehill last time, but was held up and steadied at crucial points. Still, she missed by little more than a length, and is better judged off a second-place run two back over this course on Feb. 19. Group 2-placed mare should also be paired in Exacta plays with #1 COSTELLO (5-2).

Race 4

#4 GOT YOUR SIX (7-2) has placed second twice in three runs over this track and also on soft ground (Kensington is labeled "Soft 6" at this writing). Runner-up at Warwick Farm two back, she rebounded with a convincing win at Muswellbrook third up and looms a major threat to make it two in a row in this spot.

Race 5

Neither run this year from #2 COMMANDER (18-1) could be considered flattering and he spots a bit of weight here, but if form over both Randwick courses last winter are any indication he's capable of a much improved showing second up at attractive odds. 5-2-1-0 on soft and could take some catching in a race without a ton of other speed.
