Baffert’s Already Got Two Kentucky Derby Prospects
The beginning of September officially marks Breeders' Cup Season, but when the greatest 3-year-old trainer on the planet unleashes a couple of stellar 2-year-olds, it might already be Kentucky Derby Season. Bob Baffert already has two excellent Derby prospects.
Game Winner and Roadster romped in their maiden scores. Check out profiles of both of Bob Baffert's awesome 2-year-olds.
He looked as professional as can be when holding off the chalk, Dueling. He should have no trouble stretching out. We'll know more once the American Pharoah Stakes arrives. That figures to be the race Baffert puts into Game Winner before a Breeders' Cup Juvenile try.
Roadster should enter and run in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity this Monday, September 3. The Jerry Hollendorfer trained Instagrand, the highest-rated 2-year-old in North America, should also enter. Why do I have the feeling that Roadster and Instagrand start a rivalry on Monday that we might not settle until the 2019 Santa Anita Derby?
That would be great wouldn't it? Baffert and Hollendorfer throwing down with two of the best 3-year-olds on the planet until the First Saturday in May? Roadster's odds to win the Kentucky Derby are at 25/1 while Instagrand's odds are at 30/1.

Game Winner
Game Winner went off at 9/5 in his maiden breaking score. Sired by Candy Ride, some might not like his action, which is understandable because he runs lower to the ground then most other horses. Personally, I like when talented runners do that because they can reach for the wire better than horses that run with their heads higher. He looked as professional as can be when holding off the chalk, Dueling. Roadster
Sired by Quality Road and from a Silver Ghost mare, Ghost Dancing, Roadster broke his maiden by easily beating his competition. Yes, he went off at 4/5 odds, but he acted up before even entering the gate, he broke slightly behind the field, rushed up and then backed off, and then responded to every signal jockey Mike Smith game him.Roadster should enter and run in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity this Monday, September 3.
