bestbet Weekend Feature Races
Another great weekend of racing is upon us here at bestbet Jacksonville. Loads of top grade talent on tap from rising stars, to stakes winners, to track record holders. If you like early speed, we have you covered. If you like closers, we have you covered. If you like longer races, 660 and 770 yards, we have you covered, and remember its greyhound summer and we will be running specials all week and weekend long at bestbet Jacksonville.
Let’s take a closer look at the 11 feature races this weekend and see if we can get you cashing some tickets here at bestbet Jacksonville.
Friday evening June 17th, 2016
Race 7 – If you want early speed, well this is the race to pay attention too. Tons of it here throughout the ranks, but the best belongs to Cj’s Colin. This previous Jacksonville Sprint Classic winner has enough to outrush then all especially from the 1 box. Here he is going to be tough to catch. Another stakes winner right next door. Puppy stakes champ Pullanallnighter also in a good post should push the pace from box to wire and make it interesting at the finish line. Watch out for another ankle burner Ww’s Rockrevival as he tries to get to the rail, and don’t sleep on the pure puppy Easi Charlie. This straight to grade A runner might have a little something for the veterans as well. (1-2-5-4)
Race 10 – If watching a closing greyhound is your thing, look no further than Charlie Bale in this effort. This greyhound is as fast as he wants to be, and here he is looking to make up for a lackluster effort in this last start. You can’t be on all the time and tonight I think he makes amends. With track record type speed, this pup will run down anyone to win. Setting the pace and making him work late will be the inside part of the racetrack. Stakes vet C Ville Wynter is hot off a win and will give her all once again, and both might have to catch the all out early speeder Kc’s Tammy J if they want the W. Also coming late to the party should be the solid grade A Pat C Dashboard from a favorite outside post. (5-1-2-7)
Race 15 – Another stakes winner to wager on here in this one. Recent bestbet Puppy Stakes champ Pat C Outbounds gets a great inside post and should be close enough early on to get the job done late. This girl will show just what a determined effort means in the stretch. Red hot Karla of Ruckus will be a handful here if she continues to keep up the good work. With back to back wins and 3 in 4 races, she too must be considered a threat. Hey Pretty Baby is an all-out closer that won’t show up until the stretch, and She’s A Mystery lives up to her name as she tries to rebound after a disappointing effort last time out. (2-4-6-7)
Saturday matinee June 18th, 2016
Race 7 – Post makes perfect here as the rail loving breaker Kc’s Todd will use his early speed to draw clear early, steal enough of a lead throughout that he can survive late and the wire and put up another win at bestbet Jacksonville. Speed holds better in the matinees here and he will use even inch to get the job done. Pushing him late will be the hot off a win from the same post I’m in runner Hey Hey Daddy, the fourth place finisher in the puppy stakes threat Ww Standardissue, and the I can close with the best of them late threat Bluejay’s Octane. (1-8-6-2)
Race 11 – Another pair of stakes winners adorn this effort, but one has been on a bit more of a tear than the other as of late. Atascocita Pirro has rounded back into form and is showing once again why he was one of the most feared greyhounds at bestbet Jacksonville in 2015. From the front or from off the pace he can beat you, and you can’t ignore 2 in a row and 4 in his last 5. He will get it done. Sparking the fire will be the pure puppy upstart Ln J Co. Flying up the ranks, this pup has 3 wins in 4 races and 6 straight in the trifecta expect more of the same here. Not known for winning, puppy stakes champ Pat C More Ever is always a great play under on your tickets as he has a knack for the 2-4 place finishes, and the solid A Cash Driven is back at 550, in a good post, and will come on strong late to challenge here. (4-3-7-2)
Saturday evening June 18th, 2016
Race 3 – The classic battle of early vs. late speed will once again show up here in an early grade A on the card. Cbj Sassafras has been really running well with 3 wins in 4 starts and 4 straight quiniela trips. This closer will have to make it midtrack to wide from the 1 box here in order to be effective at the wire. Clearly Arkaska Lotus will be the pacesetter and if she can steal enough at the start, might just upset the apple cart in this race. Puppy stakes competitor Ww’s O Not Again is very fast if she can get loose early on, and the late gaining Blank Spaces should also not be forgotten about in this effort as well. Post could propel him further up the ladder if everything goes his way early. (1-5-6-7)
Race 7 – The theme continues on as the best early speed greyhound right now at the racetrack will try and wire the field on the front end here again tonight. The problem for Cj’s Sadie is that she pays for all the early foot in the stretch. There she is short, short, short and has only won once in her last 6 trips with the lead at the far turn. Tonight make the 1 for 7 as the closers Kanes Hollywood and O Ya Charger will be flying up in the final few strides to deny her yet again in this one. Hollywood has the experience edge and raw speed edge, but Charger is not slouch. Either could win if things go their way, and don’t rule out Pat C Zip Code either. Hot off the stakes rounds, this girl can go if the mood suits her. (3-5-4-7)
Race 11 – Over to 660 for this one and the inside part of the racetrack is the place to be. Solid grade A runners and winners are there, but the ship in is going to be the greyhound to beat. Barts Risingstar won 5 of his 9 races before here at bestbet Jacksonville and only missed the money once. Straight in from Naples and in the one box, he is too good to pass up. This won’t be a runaway win though, he will have company throughout from the likes of the early speeding multi-stakes finalists Shutthefrontdoor, along with the 5 straights in the row in the quiniela runner Kk Whitezin, and the impressive early threat C Ville Clone. (1-4-2-3)
Race 15 – Capping off the evening we will move even further as the top 770 runners get their chance to impress. Tough to pick against the track record holder in any race, especially when she just happens to be in the same starting box that she was in when she broke the record 5 races back. Hot off a win over 660, HERSTAL, is the one to beat in this race. The runner-up spot in one that Pat C Andre is used to over 770 yards. With 3 straight, and a run of 6 in the trifecta, you have to like him as a factor again tonight. Atascocita Warm beat both of the previously mentioned greyhounds last time out, but that was because the faucet was turned to hot. You never know what you are going to get with her. The good, 3 impressive wins in 6 starts, the bad, 3 unimpressive efforts out of the money. Who know, she might upset them all again if the planets are aligned. Mr Tito also gets a look for just one reason. He runs for the DQ Williams Kennel. First time over 770, you don’t know what you are going to get. He looks the part and gets the 1 box. It could happen... (6-4-7-1)
Sunday matinee June 19th, 2016
Race 7 – Windy Gabby is a late speed machine that is class of this race. Other will break, others will have the lead in this effort, but Gabby will be way too close early on to be denied at the wire in this effort. I think it is close, but she is clearly the best of the best in this one. Ww’s Dogtown gets a great post and should be the pacesetter in this effort. No doubt he will be pressured and is short in the stretch. Look for a winning try from a great box from him today. Roger Sherman is coming off an extended rest and appears ready to rock and roll here, and don’t forget about Par Super Dee. I know the lines are not great, but this guy has been doing it forever in the top grade and when you leave him out, is the time that he decides he wants to go. (8-1-3-7)
Race 11 – All-out battle up front is a good way to explain this race. Since arriving from NF, Craigie Testify has done nothing but impress. She has shown some world class early speed and should be factoring on the front end once again in this effort. If she wants to score though, she will need to steal plenty of lengths early on in this effort. Tr’s Bisquit will be forced the pace early on, but late they both better have an eye in the rear view mirror as the closes will be a coming. With his muzzle troubles over, Jack’s Lift Off has the extra gear late that all early speeders fear. Hot off an impressive schooling win, he is ready to steal away a victory late in this race, that is if Ww’s Gypsumclear doesn’t beat him too it. Gypsum might be new to the top grade, but she he has been running, and closing well, in the last month and is ready to show the big boys and girls just what he can do. If he gets room, he could be upset minded here. (6-3-7-2)
