Gulfstream Park, Race 2: Maiden special weight (4 1/2 furlongs, 1:34 p.m. ET)
#3 Gatsby (7-2 on the morning line) has a live chance to upset this maiden dash for 2-year-olds. Owner Arindel, trainer Juan Alvarado, and jockey Emisael Jaramillo teamed up to win the first juvenile race of the year at Gulfstream Park on Thursday, when they sent out the filly Quinoa Tifah to wear down Wesley Ward-trained favorite Lime in the final strides.

Quinoa Tifah brought nine solid workouts to her debut, and Gatsby has a similar work tab to his credit, including a swift half-mile in :47 4/5 April 5 at Gulfstream. Today’s Ward trainee, #7 Golden Pal, figures to attract most of the wagering support, but Gatsby can give the favorite a run for his money at a fair price.
Let’s bet Gatsby to win and key him on top of a small trifecta, with Golden Pal and #8 First Navy Admiral underneath.
$25 to win on #3 Gatsby
$5 trifecta: 3 with 7 with 8
Good luck!
