Fonner Park, Race 4: Allowance/optional claiming (6 furlongs, 6:21 p.m. ET)
#2 Possibly in Love (5-2 on the morning line) looks like a deserving favorite for the formidable team of trainer Kelli Martinez (a 32% winner at Fonner Park) and jockey Armando Martinez (a 22% winner). Together they’ve struck at a 34% rate over the last 60 days, and all signs suggest they’ll return to the winner’s circle with Possibly in Love.
After she finished a close second in her debut, the Nebraska-bred 4-year-old broke her maiden by 6 1/2 lengths sprinting a half-mile March 8, then stretched out to 6 furlongs and led all the way to comfortably claim an April 1 allowance.
With Brisnet Speed ratings of 69, 70, and 62, Possibly in Love is among the fastest fillies in Monday's field, and her lightly raced nature leaves plenty of room for improvement. We’ll bet her to win and play her on top of an exacta, with #5 Chamber Door (5-1) and #7 Trepi’s Trpl Crown (3-1) underneath.
$15 to win on #2 Possibly in Love
$5 exacta: 2 with 5,7 ($10)
Good luck!
