#8 Perfect Revenge (3-1 on the morning line) is the lone Triple Crown nominee in this competitive eight-horse field. A former claimer conditioned by trainer Saffie Joseph (a 25% winner at Gulfstream this winter), Perfect Revenge is dropping sharply in class, after he finished off the board in the first division of the Risen Star (G2) at Fair Grounds.

Perfect Revenge finished second over this track, distance, and class level Jan. 11, when he was beaten only by his promising stablemate Disc Jockey.

He’ll race without blinkers for the first time Saturday, and while his late-running style could leave him at the mercy of the pace, Perfect Revenge looms as the class of the field and will be tough to keep out of the top two.
