There is lots of speed in this 6-furlong dash for 3-year-old fillies, but #6 Quick Decision (8-1 on the morning line) might well be the “speed of the speed.”

A Brereton Jones homebred trained by Larry Jones, Quick Decision was impressive in her debut over this track and distance Feb. 17, when she carved out blazing fractions of :21.67 and :45.26. She battled on to win by half-length, in the solid time of 1:10.77.

Quick Decision’s gallant effort resulted in a 88 Brisnet Speed rating, plus Brisnet E1 and E2 pace figures of 100. These numbers stamp Quick Decision as one of the fastest fillies in Thursday’s field, and since Jones strikes at a 31% rate with last-out maiden winners, there’s a chance Quick Decision will show improvement in her second start.

She has trained forwardly for this race and blazed 5 furlongs in :59 2/5 March 27, so let’s bet her to win at 8-1 and call it a day.
