Fonner Park, Race 1: Maiden special weight (6 furlongs, 5 p.m. ET)
Looking to build your bankroll for Tuesday’s mandatory dispersal of the Fonner Park Pick 5 jackpot? The evening opener is a great place to start.
Nine Nebraska-bred fillies and mares have been entered, but it appears most of them lack the stamina to handle 6 furlongs. #2 Miss Blue Rooster (5-2 on the morning line) has at least finished second three times at this distance, including twice this season, but she’s 0-for-10 overall and seems unlikely to show major improvement at the age of 5.

The 3-year-old #9 Zibby Too (9-2) has just three runs under her belt, including a pair of third-place efforts over this track and distance. She finished 2 3/4 lengths behind Miss Blue Rooster on April 7, but appears to have plenty of upside for trainer David Anderson and jockey Jake Olesiak, both 20% winners at Fonner this season.
We’ll take a shot betting Zibby Too on top.
$15 to win on #9 Zibby Too
$5 exacta: 9 with 2
Good luck!
