Gulfstream Park, Race 8: Allowance/optional claiming (1 1/8 miles on turf, 4:46 p.m. ET)

The eighth race at Gulfstream is an interesting puzzle, with a European group stakes participant (#1 Nope), the Florida Oaks (G3) third-place finisher (#2 Secret Stash), and a promising Florida-bred (#8 Lady Panda) vying to take down the morning-line favorite, #3 Eve of War (9/5).

Eve of War won her debut by 7 1/2 lengths, with impressive Brisnet speed figures, and needs to rebound from her second start, where she stumbled out of the gate and came in fourth. She will be racing on turf for the first time.

#5 Skye Snow (6-1 on the morning line) has continually improved since her December debut. In her second race, a maiden special weight at Fair Grounds, she finished second by three-quarters of a length, after some bumping in the stretch.

The Mike Maker trainee has posted strong works since she won her last race, a 1 1/16 mile contest on the Gulfstream turf.
