BetAmerica’s horse racing pick of the day: July 13, Delaware Park
Weekday picks and plays for Thoroughbred racing.
Monday, July 13
Delaware Park, Race 4: Maiden special weight (5 1/2 furlongs, 2:45 p.m. ET)
There are plenty of promising juveniles entered in this 5 1/2-furlong maiden dash, but we’ll place our faith in #7 Alwaysinahurry (8-1), who hails from a classy family.
A son of Great Notion, a sire of 18% debut winners, Alwaysinahurry was produced by the Lemon Drop Kid mare Otherwise Perfect, whose previous foals include I Stand Alone, Stonebriar, and Friscan, three runners who won or placed in stakes races as juveniles.
Northview Stallion Station’s Great Notion had 4 winners (2 stakes) from the nine-race program, while Golden Lad had 2 back-to-back stakes winners!

Alwaysinahurry is trained by Dale Capuano, who has gone 2-for-5 (40%) saddling 2-year-olds at Delaware Park since 2018, and another two runners finished in the money. Capuano strikes at a 26% rate with first-time starters, and Alwaysinahurry has put together a solid work tab at Laurel Park, where she posted 11 timed workouts since mid-April.
Assuming Alwaysinahurry’s 8-1 morning line odds hold up, we’ll keep things simple and bet him to win. Even 4-1 would be a solid price on this promising prospect.
$25 to win on #7 Alwaysinahurry
Good luck!
