In a field comprised primarily of unraced youngsters, #10 Sweet Medicine (3-1 on the morning line) can win on debut for high-percentage trainer Francisco Bravo.

A son of quality sprinter/miler and successful sire Munnings, Sweet Medicine has posted some sharp workouts at Will Rogers, where he most recently clocked 5 furlongs in a bullet 1:00 4/5.

Bravo is 4-for-20 at Will Rogers Downs this season and strikes at a 22% rate with first-time starters, which suggests Sweet Medicine will be ready to roll with hot jockey Ry Eikleberry in the saddle.

There’s a chance Sweet Medicine will get caught wide, after a break from post 10, but outside-drawn horses actually have a distinct advantage in sprints at Will Rogers, so we’ll count on Eikleberry to work out an ideal trip and favor Sweet Medicine to win.

We’ll also play the 3-year-old gelding on top of an exacta, with #6 Read the River and #8 Kipper underneath.
