Fonner Park, Race 5: Allowance (6 furlongs, 7:42 p.m. ET)

Trainer David Anderson holds a strong hand in this allowance dash, with #2 Scooter’s Boy (5-2 on the morning line) and #4 Ourbestfriend D L (3-1).

The former has been a win machine under Anderson’s care. Scooter's Boy has unleashed late rallies to compile a 4-for-4 record at Fonner this season.

Meanwhile, the speedy Ourbestfriend D L has proven his worth against stakes company. He battled his way to a game, runner-up effort in the Tondi S. over this track and distance two months ago.

Both Scooter’s Boy and Ourbestfriend D L have cracked the 90 Brisnet Speed rating plateau this year, which stamps them as the fastest runners in the field, and each will have a hot jockey in the saddle.

They finished just a half-length apart when Scooter’s Boy edged Ourbestfriend D L in a 6 1/2-furlong allowance on April 27, but the slightly shorter distance of Tuesday’s test could swing the advantage back to Ourbestfriend D L.

The two Anderson trainees rate a strong chance to run 1-2 again, so we’ll box them in the exacta.
