The $2 million Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) will feature a match-up between the leading three-year-old filly Monomoy Girl and the leading older female Abel Tasman. A total of 12 runners have been pre-entered for the 1 1/8-mile event at Churchill Downs on November 3 and let's review the last three BRIS Speed ratings for the eight Distaff winners this decade.

Three Distaff winners – Stopchargingmaria, Untapable and Royal Delta (first of back-to-back wins in 2011) – recorded a BRIS Speed rating in the mid-90s in the final prep.
The minimum threshold for Distaff winner this decade has been a 91 BRIS Speed rating.

Only three contenders -- Abel Tasman, Blue Prize and Monomoy Girl – have registered multiple triple-digit BRIS Speed ratings.
The top performers in the field are Abel Tasman, 107 for Personal Ensign (G1) win two starts back; Monomoy Girl, 105 for Cotillion (G1) (finished first but placed second) last out; Midnight Bisou, 104 for Cotillion DQ win last out; 102, Blue Prize for Fleur de Lis (G2) win three back; La Force, 102 for Clement Hirsch (G1) runner-up two back; and Wow Cat, 102 for Beldame (G1) win last out.
Five pre-entrants – Fuhriously Kissed, Mopotism, Vale Dori, Verve's Tale and Wonder Gadot – have failed to reach the triple-digit threshold.
