A total of five massive contests for two-year-olds will be held during Breeders’ Cup weekend at Del Mar on Nov. 1 as part of the much-anticipated Future Stars Friday card. I have highlighted some of the leading juveniles who have raced in North America for the handful of tilts for the youngsters.
Juvenile
- Citizen Bull – Bob Baffert colt wired the American Pharoah (G1) and looms large at Del Mar with any improvement off of that triumph.
- East Avenue – Godolphin homebred left no doubt in the Breeders’ Futurity (G1) and has a very high ceiling for Brendan Walsh.
- Jonathan’s Way – Unbeaten Vekoma colt has impressed in both career runs to date, and the Iroquois (G3) winner has major appeal at a price.
- Chancer McPatrick – Champagne (G1) and Hopeful (G1) star will be the one to hold off in the stretch for Chad Brown.
- Ferocious – Hopeful (G1) and Breeders’ Futurity (G1) runner-up can’t be dismissed in his second two-turn try.

Juvenile Fillies
- Immersive – Dual Grade 1 heroine has done nothing wrong from three lifetime tries for Brad Cox.
- Non Compliant – Baffert trainee toppled a nice group in the Oak Leaf (G2) and is among the ones to beat.
- Quietside – Malibu Moon filly has not had ideal trips when placing in both the Spinaway (G1) and Alcibiades (G1) and could be a sleeper for John Ortiz.
- Scottish Lassie – Frizette (G1) heroine from the Jorge Abreu shedrow could move up in her first two-turn endeavor at Del Mar.
- Vodka With A Twist – Phil D’Amato trainee ran two big ones on the local surface and might thrive in her route debut.

- New Century – Awesome Summer S. (G1) winner looked the part at Woodbine for Andrew Balding.
- Zulu Kingdom – Recent Pilgrim (G2) victor is unbeaten from three outings for Chad Brown.
- Tiztastic – Steve Asmussen trainee was very game in the Juvenile Mile at Kentucky Downs last time out to move to 2-for-2 on the green.
- Al Qudra – Summer runner-up had a nice prep when second at Woodbine in advance of his Del Mar appearance.
- Noble Confessor – Todd Pletcher pupil was a close second in the Pilgrim (G2) in his first run on the grass and has a high ceiling going forward. x

- And One More Time – Natalma (G1) heroine showed heart in her first turf endeavor for Mark Casse.
- Scythian – Bill Mott trainee romped in the Miss Grillo (G2) at Aqueduct and is 2-for-2 on the lawn.
- Thought Process – D’Amato trainee has romped in a trio of route races on the turf, including a pair of assignments at Del Mar.
- Vixen – Vekoma filly just missed in Natalma (G1) and has trained well in the interim for Casse.

- Governor Sam – George Weaver colt has rolled home to victories in four straight, including the last three in the stakes ranks.
- Kilwin – Untapable S. victress has looked real good in two career runs for Rusty Arnold.
- Chasing Liberty – Constitution colt has a big turn of foot and will have a lively pace to rally into for Rob Atras.
- Mentee – Fierceness full-brother aced his turf test in dominating the Futurity (G3) at Aqueduct in his latest showing.
- Smash It – Todd Fincher pupil was a big second in the Speakeasy S. in his turf bow, and the son of Star Guitar is intriguing at a healthy price.
