Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint
#8 Soul of an Angel (12-1) has spent most of 2024 racing around two turns, most notably finishing a head behind champion Idiomatic when second in a slow-paced renewal of the Molly Pitcher (G3). But the five-year-old mare is superior racing around one turn. Read full Breeders' Cup analysis.
Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint
I’m not under the impression that Godolphin’s #6 Star of Mystery (10-1) is the most talented runner in the field, but the Kodiac filly has a lot of quality to her and I think that she is a prime contender from off the pace in the fleet field. Read full Breeders' Cup analysis.

Breeders' Cup Distaff
#2 Thorpedo Anna (4-5) will attempt to put a bow on her sensational 2024 for conditioner Kenny McPeek. The soon-to-be champion is 5-for-6 this campaign, with her lone setback coming by a head bob in the Travers S. (G1) versus the boys, and the standout sophomore is reportedly training in fine fashion in advance of her initial try with her elders as well. Kentucky-bred daughter of Fast Anna is the clear one to beat under Brian Hernandez Jr. Read full Breeders' Cup analysis.

Breeders' Cup Classic
Anticipation runs high for City of Troy’s appearance in Saturday’s $7 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at Del Mar. Installed as the 5-2 morning-line favorite, the Irish-based colt was named European champion after a smashing juvenile campaign, and City of Troy has parlayed his speed and stamina into a trio of impressive Group 1 wins this year. Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf
#4 War Like Goddess (5-2) has long been one of my favorite horses in training for conditioner Bill Mott. The consistently excellent daughter of English Channel continues to carry her high-level form from season to season, and the seven-year-old had a nice prep for this one when second in the Turf Classic S. (G1) at Aqueduct while facing the boys. Read full Breeders' Cup analysis.
- $10 exacta box 3,4 ($20)
- $3 trifecta key 4 with 2,3,7 ($18)
- 50-cent superfecta 3,4 with 3,4 with 2,7 with ALL ($18)
Breeders' Cup Sprint
A pair of colts who have shown vast improvement this year will make the ticket. #10 Mullikin (7-2) is undefeated this year and is well spotted breaking outside most of the other speed. He's capable of stalking a bit, and his ability over longer suggests he'll presumably have more in the tank when some of the other speedballs begin to wilt. Read full Breeders' Cup analysis.
- Race 8, $2 Pick 3: 1,3,12 with 3,10 with 1,10 = $24.
Breeders' Cup Mile
#6 Notable Speech (7-2), from the mighty Charlie Appleby barn, is a two-time Group 1 winner with an explosive turn of foot, and I feel that the sophomore will take to this surface while making his stateside debut. Chestnut son of Dubawi is 5-for-7 in total, with his latest setback coming over soft ground, and the Godolphin homebred seems poised to run his best race on Saturday with William Buick in the silks. - $30 win #6 Notable Speech
- $7 exacta key box 6 with 1,7
- 50-cent superfecta 6 with 1,7,8 with 1,7,8 with ALL
Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile
The Ignacio Correas-trained #12 Mufasa (12-1) has been forwardly placed in his last two starts, which resulted in an allowance victory at Colonial as well as a clear score in the Vosburgh S. (G3), but the five-year-old will not be as close in the early stages of the two-turn tilt on Saturday. Read full Breeders' Cup analysis.
- $20 win and place #12 Mufasa ($40)
- 50-cent trifecta 12,14 with 1,7,8,9,11,12,14 with 1,7,8,9,11,12,14 ($30)
