Thoroughbred racing returns Thursday to the Pleasanton Fairgrounds Racetrack at the Almeida County Fairgrounds in Northern California and Brisnet.com has tabbed Grey Girl Gone (#6 in Race 6) as the most likely winner on the program.

Utilizing the industry’s best source of past performance data, the Brisnet.com Ultimate PPs, Grey Girl Gone appears poised to capture the six-furlong event on the front end.

Grey Girl Gone is the only member of the six-horse field with an “E” (Early) run style and displayed excellent speed in her previous starts, registering BRIS Pace ratings in the mid-90s.

At the distance, “E” types won at a 31% clip last meet and the filly picks up the services of Russell Baze, who strikes at a 32% rate when coupled with “E” runners.

Trainer Quinn Howey has won 19% of his starts first off the claim, from a small sample, and Grey Girl Gone shows a pair of quick local works in preparation.

We like the cut back to a favorable one-turn distance and fitness won’t be an issue, with the gray miss making her last start 27 days ago at Santa Anita.

Grey Girl Gone easily tops the field in BRIS Prime Power (118.8) and is our top selection on the Pleasanton Opening Day card.
