Carryover watch: $38,428 Pick 6 at Aqueduct; mandatory payouts at Golden Gate, Woodbine
Handicapper J. Keeler Johnson shares horses to play in a bevy of carryovers at Aqueduct, Golden Gate Fields, and Woodbine, including a trio of mandatory-payout wagers.
Aqueduct, Race 4: $38,428 Pick 6 carryover (1:46 p.m. ET)
One of the biggest carryovers up for grabs on Sunday can be found at Aqueduct, where the $1 Pick 6 has tossed up a lucrative $38,428 non-jackpot prize pool.
Looking for a single to build tickets around? The best chance may come in Race 6, a $40,000 maiden claimer for two-year-olds bred in New York. Morning line favorite #7 Disarmed (5-2) has hit the board in all four of his starts against New York-bred maiden special weight competition, including a six-furlong dash over a muddy Aqueduct main track on Nov. 12.
What is a single, and why are they valuable?

That's a great question!
Let's ask @J_Keelerman ⬇️ https://t.co/WTuXqaYlAW
Disarmed is trained by Christophe Clement, who wins at a lofty 32% rate with horses descending from maiden special weight to maiden claiming company. Disarmed’s Brisnet Speed ratings look competitive in this spot, so dropping in class may be sufficient to trigger a winning run.
We’ll also highlight #4 Spin a Yarn (8-1) as a live longshot worth supporting in Race 5, a $45,000 allowance optional claimer for New York-bred fillies and mares. There isn’t much speed entered in this 6 1/2-furlong dirt dash, so Spin a Yarn—who has set the pace in five of her last six starts—figures to enjoy a favorable trip.
Spin a Yawn is 7-for-11 overall and 3-for-3 in New York-bred allowances. She’s won her lone previous start at Aqueduct and gains a five-pound weight allowance courtesy of apprentice jockey Jose Gomez, so there’s a chance Spin a Yarn gets out in front and forgets to stop.
Golden Gate Fields, Race 7: $3,137 Pick 6 mandatory payout (5:14 p.m. ET)
Sunday is closing day of the Golden Gate Fields fall meet, which means the $3,317 carryover in the 20-cent Golden Pick 6 is slated for a mandatory payout.

Let’s ask @j_Keelerman 👇https://t.co/y93l9aJ7Id
Race 10, an allowance taking place over 1 1/16 miles on Tapeta, offers a promising horse to build tickets around. #8 Kings River Knight (7-2) is the third choice on the morning line, but the lightly-raced four-year-old gelding has the appearance of a viable single.
Kings River Knight finished second in his debut on dirt, then rattled off three consecutive victories on grass (including a Golden Gate allowance) while showcasing a wide variety of running styles. Most recently, Kings River Knight tackled Tapeta for a one-mile allowance at Golden Gate and produced a big late rally to finish clearly second-best, earning a career-best 93 Brisnet Speed rating.
Kings River Knight still has upside but has already defeated #2 Anitanewmercedes (5-2), one of two runners listed at a short price on the morning line. Any way you slice it, Kings River Knight is an appealing play.
Woodbine, Race 9: $25,476 Pick 6 mandatory payout (5:07 p.m. ET)
Woodbine, Race 14: $26,925 Super High 5 mandatory payout (7:38 p.m. ET)
Just like at Golden Gate, Sunday is closing day at Woodbine, triggering mandatory payouts of a $25,476 Pick 6 jackpot and a $26,925 Super High 5 jackpot.
Both of these 20-cent wagers involve Race 14, a $7,500 claimer taking place over 1 1/16 miles on Tapeta. A competitive field of 14 horses has been entered, but the red-hot #5 Bet (4-1) appears well worth supporting. The improving three-year-old gelding has won three straight races since transitioning from turf to Tapeta, most recently rallying from behind a pedestrian pace to win a $5,000 claimer by two lengths.
Trainer Zeljko Krcmar is a 21% winner at Woodbine this meet, and Krcmar has every chance to end the meet on a winning note with Bet.
Good luck!
