Churchill $150 Feeder and Gulfstream’s $10,076 Super High 5
A couple of lucrative betting opportunities stand out at two different racetracks on Sunday.
Tournament bettors ought to check out the $150 Churchill Downs Feeder tournament. Wager your entire $100 bankroll across at least five races at Churchill Downs (minimum $10 per race) to compete for an entry into the 11/9 $400 Churchill Downs KDBC Qualifier tournament.
Fans of carryovers should focus their attention at Gulfstream Park, where the $1 Super High 5 features a non-jackpot $10,076 prize pool.

Churchill Downs $150 Feeder tournament analysis
Churchill has put together a competitive card with plenty of opportunities for lucrative payoffs.
One race we recommend playing is Race 9, a 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight for two-year-olds. Our top choice is #4 Volt (3-1), a stoutly bred son of Tapit out of a mare by Flower Alley. He finished fourth in his debut dashing 5 1/2 furlongs, then stretched out over seven furlongs to finish second in a fast Aqueduct maiden special weight. Volt was beaten only 1 3/4 lengths while pulling 10 lengths clear of the rest, and he earned a strong 90 Brisnet Speed rating that tops Sunday’s field by seven points.
Stretching out over 1 1/16 miles shouldn’t be an obstacle for Volt, so we recommend keying him on top of an exacta using #7 Dr. Saikali (5-2) and #11 Whiskey Shot (4-1) for second place.

Gulfstream Park $10,076 Super High 5 carryover analysis
The Super High 5 carryover is available to chase in Race 11, a $16,000 claimer for fillies and mares who have never won two races. The one-mile turf test has drawn 10 entries, and we suggest keying morning line favorite #8 Refugiada (5-2) on top of your tickets.
Refugiada is dropping in class after ending a layoff with a seventh-place finish in a $25,000 claimer sprinting 6 1/2 furlongs on dirt. Tackling a turf route should be more to her liking. Back in March she rallied to finish third by two lengths in a $50,000 starter optional claimer racing one mile over the Gulfstream grass. Her only other turf start yielded a fifth-place finish in a $75,000 allowance optional claimer racing 1 1/16 miles at Tampa Bay Downs.
Those were much tougher contests than Refugiada will tackle on Sunday. Throw in the fact trainer Victor Barboza Jr. wins at a 23% rate with horses running back for the second time following a layoff, and Refugiada is a compelling choice to play on top.
Good luck!
