Clairiere the early favorite in 2021 Kentucky Oaks Future Wager

Clairiere and Travel Column, one-two finishers in last month's Rachel Alexandra (G2) in a form reversal of last fall's Golden Rod (G2), have been pegged among the early individual choice in the lone 2021 Kentucky Oaks Future Wager (KOFW). The pool will open Friday and ends Sunday.
Clairiere is listed as the 5-1 individual choice in the KOFW, with Travel Column and the Todd Pletcher-trained Malathaat tabbed at 6-1 on the early line. Malathaat is undefeated in three starts with her most recent victory coming in the Demoiselle (G2) in December.
Three Oaks preps will be decided this weekend. The Busher S. at Aqueduct and the Honeybee (G3) at Oaklawn Park will be held Saturday, while the Santa Ysabel (G3) at Santa Anita will be run Sunday.
The KOFW runs concurrently with Pool 4 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager (KDFW). In addition to Win and Exacta betting, a $1 Oaks/Derby Future Double is part of the wagering menu.
The wagers will open Friday at noon (ET) and the KOFW will close Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Betting on the KOFW is available at www.TwinSpires.com.

The KOFW, which include $2 Win and Exacta wagering, provide fans of Thoroughbred racing with opportunities to place bets on possible entrants in the Kentucky Oaks (G1) at odds that could be far greater than those available on the day of the race. The 147th running of Kentucky Oaks is set for Apr. 30 at Churchill Downs.
There are no refunds in the KOFW. Should Churchill Downs officials determine during the duration of this week's three-day pool that one of the wagering interests has experienced an injury, illness or other circumstance that would prevent the horse from participating in the Kentucky Oaks, betting on the individual horse will be suspended immediately.
