Creative Minister: Preakness contender profile
Creative Minister will jump straight from back-to-back wins over maiden special weight and entry-level allowance rivals to the Preakness, and connections forked over a $150,000 supplemental fee to run since he wasn’t Triple Crown-nominated.
He defeated a nice field on the Kentucky Derby undercard, netting triple-digit Brisnet Speed (101) and Late Pace (102) ratings for the 2 3/4-length decision in the 1 1/16-mile allowance, and the gray Kentucky-bred colt has captured both two-turn starts comfortably. His inexperience rates as a legitimate concern, but Creative Minister appears to have plenty of upside.
