DeRosa Looking For Derby Day Rebound At Windows

After taking it on the chin Kentucky Oaks day, I am ready for a big Kentucky Derby day. My ABC grid for the 13-race program is below.

Some notes:

The two horses I'm most interested in betting on the undercard are Dame Dorothy in the Humana Distaff (race 7)and Pants on Fire in the Churchill Downs Handicap. The former cuts back from the Santa Margarita and can upset the off-the-bench Judy the Beauty who is winless in two starts at Churchill while my selection is two-for-two at this distance. Pants On Fire cut back last time for a win and gets in light against Bayern, who will be overbet, and Private Zone, who exits a negative key race.

In the Kentucky Derby (race 11), I elevated Frosted to an "A" along with my "top pick" American Pharoah. I don't love that Frosted is getting hammered early, but hopefully he'll settle as a group fourth choice at a round 12-to-1 rather than potentialy third choice below 10-to-1. Frosted is the only horse in the field with triple digit E2 and LP Brisnet.com pace ratings in the same race, and I like that style for the Derby.
