Race 6 – URBAN INSIGHT (#1) (5-2)
Having an opinion against favored horses in any given race can be a big advantage, if you’re right obviously. I’m willing to take a stand against both Cosmic Code (#4) (9-5), a router cutting back with blinkers on, and Mt. Brave (#2) (3-1), who took advantage of a significant bias to break her maiden two starts back. That leaves me with this gal. She’s run huge in three of her last four starts, and there’s no reason to believe she won’t run another big race here.
Single in multi-race wagers. Play with #6, #4 and #2 in gimmicks.
Race 7 – AMONGST (#3) (7-2)
Brad Cox has only run three two-year-olds the entire Saratoga meet, which means he’s got some good ones to unleash in Kentucky. By Into Mischief, this colt is out of the unraced Empire Maker mare Betwixt, who cost more than $1.3 million at auction. The workouts are sneaky good, and Cox wins at a very high percentage when employing jockey Shaun Bridgmohan.
Single in multi-race wagers. Play with #9, #4, #5, #6 and #8 in gimmicks.
Race 8 – K J’S NOBILITY (#2) (3-1)
A model of consistency, it’s arguable that this Arkansas-bred is better than ever. Over the same mile trip last out at Ellis, he stalked an even pace and was shuffled back a bit before making a threatening move on the turn. He couldn’t get to the razor-sharp front runner, but was solidly second best. With plenty of speed entered here, he should find himself in the garden spot.
Use in multi-race wagers. Play with #6, #3, #1, and #5 in gimmicks.
Race 9 – BUENO BUENO BUENO (#1) (8-1 ML)
Put forth a very promising, runner-up performance in his second career start way back in May of 2018. He only ran one more time before heading on an extended vacation. Trainer Ian Wilkes has taken the shackles off in the mornings, and this lightly raced four-year-old has responded with some sharp works. It looks like patience might pay off.
Use in multi-race wagers. Watch the toteboard for clues and take a close look at him in the paddock, post parade and warm-ups. Potential win, place & show ladder. Play with #2, #3, #8, #9 and #10 in gimmicks.
