Exacta box of the week: Parx race 4 on Saturday, June 1
Exacta Box of the week for Parx Racing
The fourth race at Parx Racing on Saturday attracted a field of nine fillies in what appears to be a solid betting opportunity. The $40,000 maiden claiming contest features a vulnerable favorite, as well as some contenders who could offer excellent value. Since I expect a lot of the wagering to be centered around the morning-line choice, the play for me is the exacta.Horse Selections for the Exacta
BUCKS SOME (#5) (8-1) was caught chasing lone speed at the special weight level most recently and will appreciate the class relief in her third race since being claimed. The Michael Moore-trained four-year-old was a sharp runner-up on the surface against better two prior, and she is my top selection.WILDCATTIN (#8) (5-1) makes her Parx debut in this dash and will race without blinkers for the initial time. The Super Ninety Nine filly from the Shaw barn improved some when an even fifth at Pimlico in her latest, and she comes back in a week which is a positive sign to me. The sophomore will get a contested pace to rally into late in this affair.
KATE’S BULL’S BAY (#7) (9-2) intrigues me in her initial assignment. The bay filly by 15% debut sire Bullsbay hails from the barn of Patricia Farro, who is strong with juveniles and shows a +ROI with first-time starters. Emmanuel Esquivel, who is riding at a 21% clip at the meeting, gets the call.
GLINDA (#4) (12-1) has some hidden form and is worth including at a big number. The James Noble charge has been placed in a few ambitious spots in 2019 but hit the board in each of her two maiden claiming assignments here. Street Sense filly has big early foot and should be prominent from the outset.
I think that this is a fairly deep race for the level. Favorite Yellow Chick (#9) (2-1) is the play against for me. She simply settles for too many minor awards for my liking, and drawing the outside post could be a detriment to her chances.
