Exotics plays for the Penn Mile June 3

A field of eight three-year-olds will race eight panels on the grass in the $400,000 Penn Mile (G2) on Friday, June 3.
Below we give you our full field analysis and best exotics plays for Race 6 on Penn National’s Friday card, including exacta, trifecta, and superfecta tickets for the Grade 2 stakes.
#1 Annapolis (9-5): Making his third career start, unbeaten Annapolis opened as a heavy morning line favorite for trainer Todd Pletcher. The son of War Front comes off an eight-month layoff following his win in the Pilgrim S. (G2) at Belmont in which he beat Portfolio Company by a head. The bay has raced under Irad Ortiz Jr. in his two career starts, both at 1 1/16 miles on turf, and will cut back in distance with the three-time Eclipse Award-winning jockey.
Pletcher is a 24% winner both with shippers and horses coming off a long layoff.
#2 Wow Whata Summer (12-1): Last out, the dark bay son of Summer Front came home third to rival Uncaptured Spirit in a 5 1/2-furlong allowance at Laurel. Conditioner James “Chuck” Lawrence II has gone 3-for-13 (23%) at Penn National this meet but is just a 9% winner with shippers in 164 starts over the last three years.
Jockey Tyler Conner will stay in the irons for Wow Whata Summer, whose only career win was a maiden special weight at Colonial Downs in July 2021.
#3 Uncaptured Spirit (10-1): Following his win in an allowance turf sprint at Laurel on April 23, Uncaptured Spirit finished fourth in the James W. Murphy S. at Pimlico, where he hit triple-digit E1 and E2 Speed figures before weakening to a fourth-place finish.
Angel Suarez will retain the mount for trainer Mark Shuman, an 8% winner with turf starts.
#4 Ohtwoohthreefive (8-1): Looking for his first win since he broke his maiden in a one-miler at Belmont in October 2021, Ohtwoohthreefive will debut at Penn National for conditioner George Weaver, a 20% winner with shippers. Kendrick Carmouche will get his fourth career ride with the Union Rags son, who has placed twice in three starts with the high-percentage jockey. The pairing last came home third in a 1 1/16-mile trip in an allowance at Belmont on May 5 in which the colt hit an 84 Brisnet Speed figure.
#5 Noneedtoworry (20-1): The chestnut will make his first start on grass for trainer Herold Whylie, an 18% winner with horses transitioning from dirt to turf. Regular rider Silvestre Gonzalez will stay in the silks and has won twice in nine career tries on dirt with Noneedtoworry, who last came home seventh of nine in the 1 1/8-mile Federico Tesio S. at Laurel on April 16.
#6 Witty (12-1): The gray gelding flashed a 97 Brisnet Speed figure at seven furlongs on dirt last out in the Spectacular Bid S., which marked his third straight win. The Elusive Quality grandson will move up in class and race at a route distance for the first time while also debuting on grass for conditioner McLane Hendriks.
Jockey Carol Cedeno is a 40% winner this meet but is 0-for-10 on turf the last two months.
#7 Red Danger (5-2): Looking for his first win of his three-year-old campaign, Red Danger last finished seventh of 10 in the 1 1/16-mile American Turf S. (G2) at Churchill Downs on the Kentucky Derby undercard.
The chestnut gets a rider change with Paco Lopez, a 21% winner on turf over the last two months. Trainer Brian Lynch is a 13% winner in graded stakes over the last three years and should have the well-bred son of Orb in the mix down the stretch.
#8 Fort Washington (7-2): The Shug McGaughey pupil has cracked the trifecta in all four career starts and last finished second by 1 3/4 lengths in the Woodhaven S. at Aqueduct in late April. Two back, the dark bay clocked a 102 Late Pace figure in the one-mile Columbia Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs in March.
Flavien Prat will pick up the mount in Fort Washington’s debut at Penn National.

Penn Oaks, Race 5: #4 Haughty (4-5) is the one to beat for trainer Chad Brown. The daughter of Empire Maker makes a drop in class after finishing a close third to Pizza Bianca in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) in November. Prat picks up the mount for the filly's three-year-old debut.
