Exotics to play for the Test and Glens Falls Stakes
A handful of stakes races, led by three of the Grade 1 variety, will highlight a massive Saturday card at Saratoga. I will take a swing at the pair of graded events for the ladies.
Race 7 -- Glens Falls S. (G2)
Seven will go postward in the 1 1/2-mile turf affair on the inner lawn. Morning-line choice #3 War Like Goddess (8-5) has been a horse very high on my list since her winning debut at Churchill Downs last year, and I will key her on top in my plays. Conditioned by Bill Mott, the English Channel four-year-old is 4-for-5 lifetime and exits a dominant win in the Bewitch S. (G3) at the distance at Keeneland in her latest venture. Kentucky-bred will be rolling from off the pace with regular guide Leparoux in the stirrups.
#1 Call Me Love (8-1) beat a nice duo at Belmont Park most recently, and she will be included in the verticals. Group 2 heroine proved capable of handling the distance last time out, and the tactical mare will enjoy a ground-saving voyage throughout the race with Junior Alvarado in the controls.
Glens Falls Wagers:
- $1 superfecta: 3 with 1 with all with all ($20)
- $.50-cent superfecta: 3 with all with 1 with all ($10)
Race 8 -- Test S. (G1)
Fantastic field of three-year-old fillies will run seven panels on the dirt in a deep contest. A cast of seven will leave the gate and I have a trio of fillies that interest me most.
Juddmonte homebred #4 Obligatory (4-1) possesses a brilliant turn of foot and should receive a swift pace to rally into in the Test S. The Bill Mott trainee followed up her superb Eight Bells S. (G2) tally with a closing second in the recent Acorn S. (G1), and she has been training in Saratoga since May in preparation for her first run at The Spa. Jose Ortiz retains the mount atop the daughter of Curlin.
Well they went hard early and it set it up perfectly for a swooper like Obligatory, who swamped the favorite Dayoutoftheoffice late to score in the G2 Eight Belles under @jose93_ortiz at 16-1!#TwinSpiresReplay pic.twitter.com/JZ90qb9ts8

Kentucky Oaks (G1) runner-up #7 Search Results (5-2) is a neck shy of being unbeaten from five lifetime tries for conditioner Chad Brown. The dark bay Flatter filly has been consistently excellent to this stage of her development, and I will admit that I had underestimated her ability until now. Irad rides the star.
#8 Bella Sofia (6-1) might get overlooked in the betting for Rudy Rodriguez. Fleet daughter of Awesome Patriot will flash her speed an extra furlong in this dash, and I expect her to have a dream trip while forcing the tempo to the top of the lane. Leading pilot Luis Saez will be in the silks.
Test Wagers:
- $.50-cent superfecta: 4 with 7,8 with all with all ($30)
- $4 exacta key box: 4 with 7,8 ($16)
