Fabricate the single in Sept. 3 Pick 3 at Churchill Downs

The $200,000 Pocahontas (G3) headlines an 11-race card at Churchill Downs on Thursday. I have a horse that I am intrigued with in the feature, and I'll build a Pick 3 play around her.

Race 9 – Allowance Optional Claiming

A very competitive contest at 6 furlongs could go to any contender in the field, in my opinion. I can’t find much separation between the morning line choices and longer shots, so I am clicking the "ALL" button to start the wager off. I have some confidence that I will be rewarded with a square-priced winner.

Race 10 – Pocahontas (G3)

A solid field of juvenile fillies will travel 1-mile on dirt in the feature. I am going to take a stand with #1 Fabricate (8-1) as an aggressive single in the middle leg. Ian Wilkes charge was a nice debut winner over this track prior to finishing third in the Debutante S. at Ellis Park in her stakes bow. Speightster filly traveled wide in her most recent showing, and I think she will save all the ground from the rail before taking over late on Thursday under Javier Castellano.

Race 11 – Maiden Special Weight

The boys will run 1-mile on the grass in the finale, which attracted an overflow field of 14. I have the luxury of going deep following a single, so I will include the following runners:

#2 Red Storm Risen (5-2), #5 Alfons Walde (5-1), #6 Iadanza (10-1), #7 The Angry Man (2-1), and #8 Three Amigos (12-1).
