Golden Gate Fields: How to bet the $3,063 Super High 5 carryover
Who’s ready for some Saturday carryover action? The weekend at Golden Gate Fields kicks off with a $3,063 prize pool in the Super High 5.
The $1 wager is offered on every race featuring seven or more entries, so on Saturday, the first opportunity to play the Super High 5 (and chase the carryover) comes in Race 4. The event in question is an $8,000 claimer for fillies and mares racing 1 1/16 miles over the synthetic Tapeta track, and a field of eight has been entered.
What are synthetic tracks?

Great question!
Let’s ask @J_Keelerman 🤔https://t.co/XRF6fUwRAj
The morning line favorite is #3 Nicole Grace (5-2), and it’s easy to understand why she’s a short price. The five-year-old mare has hit the board in four straight $12,500 claimers racing one mile over the Golden Gate Tapeta, along the way earning three straight Brisnet Speed ratings in the 74-77 range. Throw in the presence of hot jockey Armando Ayuso (a 20% winner at Golden Gate), and Nicole Grace’s credentials are readily evident.
But isn’t longshot #7 Good Time Dolly (12-1) just as enticing? Nicole Grace and Good Time Dolly have squared off twice at the $12,500 claiming level in recent months. Nicole Grace finished 1 3/4 lengths clear of Good Time Dolly when they ran third and fourth on March 19, but in an identical race on Feb. 27, the tables were turned and Good Time Dolly edged Nicole Grace by three-quarters of a length for third place.
Good Time Dolly has posted five straight Brisnet Speed ratings in the 72-78 range, so she consistently runs as fast as Nicole Grace. She also won over this track and class level on Jan. 23. At 12-1 on the morning line, Good Time Dolly looms as an enticing choice to play on top.
Suppose you’re handicapping a 1 1/16-mile route race at your favorite track. Wouldn't it be nice to know which running style is most likely to win?

Well @J_Keelerman explains how @Brisnet can answer that for you ⤵️ https://t.co/leBGH703l8
#1 Miss Ever Ready (4-1), dropping in class out of a couple of $20,000 claimers, is another contender with the Brisnet Speed ratings to produce a competitive showing. The same goes for #4 Summer Apparition, fresh off a $5,000 claiming win over this track. Summer Apparition is set to make her first start since being claimed by high-percentage trainer Reid France, a 29% winner with new claiming acquisitions.
Throw in #6 Del Mar Flash (3-1), second over this track and class level on March 7, and we should be ready to roll with a solid Super High 5 ticket.
- $1 Super High 5: 7 with 1,3,4 with 1,3,4 with 1,3,4,6 with ALL ($48)
Good luck!
