Greyhound Preview: Palm Beach for 6/10/2014
by Palm Beach Jason
Palm Beach will be an excellent place to watch and play for the Tuesday racing card. 15 very competitive races come our way, with many rookie greyhounds looking to make their mark starting today. With less than 3 weeks left in the season, what other great things will we see from this track?
Here are the top races I will be following for the Matinee at “The Beach.”
Race 1 Grade M 545 Yards
Always nice to start the day off with some very promising racers just starting their careers off here.
#8 JB’s Off N Way from Rader Racing has been impressive from the outside in two previous schooling runs and gets the prime box here to fire out of. Rader Racing is notorious for sporting ready to go rookie greyhounds, so there will be no surprise if JB’s wins this one.
Will see a challenge right next door in the 7 box from Flying Acerola. 0-17 all time for wins at two different tracks, but has finished in the Quinela in both races at Palm Beach. I like her for another board hit here.
JB’s Off N Way stops the Maiden Madness and gets his first win.
Picks: 8 - 7 - 3 - 5
Race 12 Grade B 545 Yards
Classic race of an early speedster who consistently coughs up leads in this one.
#4 Magic Buster is one of the best lid flippers at Palm Beach, but with only 7 wins on the season, cannot finish off races at go time. That’s when you look for the closer that can take him at the wire.
#2 JS Mad Money from the Koppe, Staats & Collins team is just that. A consistent top class runner this season, really tears up the backstretch and has a lot of success in this lower class.
#7 Turbo Nanette is a former A Grader as well but is a little off form currently. Should be placed on any Tri/Super plays here, but would surprise me for the win.
Mad Money takes his game back to Grade A after winning here.
Picks: 2 - 4 - 7 - 1
Race 15 Grade A 545 Yards
The race of the day without a doubt.
The only Grade A race on the card should be wide open here. Hot puppy prospect #1 Superior Jamaica from B & B Racing has stormed on the scene at Palm Beach after transferring from Hollywood. Loves the rail and has won four of six races, with a 29.55 secs best time already. First time getting the prime 1 box to fire out of and will suit him very nicely.
#8 Flying Odin is the wildcard. Bolted a 29.45 secs W out of this box on 5/10 but hasn’t been able to duplicate it since. #6 NB’s Nice and Easy from owner Mike Seeger was one of the top racers from last season who can never be counted off a ticket play.
Jamaica from the inside post gets her first Grade A win.
Picks: 1 - 6 - 8 - 3
Top Pick Race 12- #2 JS Mad Money
