The final race on Sunday at Gulfstream Park offers a non-jackpot $6,830 Super High 5 carryover for bettors to chase.
The afternoon finale is Race 10, an $8,000 claimer for horses who have never won two races. The distance is 5 1/2 furlongs on Tapeta, and the nine-horse field features 15,120 possible Super High 5 outcomes.
The favorites look formidable. The top three choices on the morning line are:
#1 Yeager (5-2): After recording top-five finishers against $50,000 and $25,000 claimers for non-winners of two races, Yeager improved to second place when dropping in class for an $8,000 claimer last time out. Brisnet Speed ratings suggest Yeager is a win threat.

#2 Blue Spearman (2-1): This lightly raced three-year-old gelding hasn’t run as fast as Yeager on the Brisnet Speed rating scale, but his first start over the Gulfstream Park Tapeta yielded a gate-to-wire romp by four lengths in a $12,500 maiden claimer. High-percentage trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. strikes at a 22% rate with last-out maiden winners, and hot jockey Teshawn Hazelwood is named to ride, so there are reasons to believe Blue Spearman can make his second Tapeta start a winning one.
#4 Dr. Perry (4-1): Two starts over the Gulfstream Tapeta have yielded strong showings from Dr. Perry. Back in January, he finished third in a $16,000 claimer for non-winners of two races. Then, following a seven-month layoff, he returned in August to finish second by a nose in an $8,000 claimer for non-winners of two races. He was claimed out of that effort by trainer Jose D’Angelo, who strikes at a 22% rate with new claiming acquisitions, and he’s picking up jockey Edwin Gonzalez, a 33% winner teaming up with D’Angelo over the last two months. Strong Brisnet Speed ratings cement Dr. Perry as a serious win threat.
By mixing and matching the three favorites with other logical contenders like #5 Urge to Merge (8-1) and #7 Paynted Blue (9-2), we should have every chance to hit the Super High 5:
- $1 Super High 5: 1,2,4 with 1,2,4 with 1,2,4 with 5,7 with 5,6,7 ($24)
- $1 Super High 5: 1,2,4 with 1,2,4 with 5,7 with 1,2,4 with 5,6,7 ($24)
- $1 Super High 5: 1,2,4 with 1,2,4 with 5,7 with 5,7 with 1,2,4 ($12)
Total: $60
Good luck!
