Gulfstream Park, Race 9: Allowance/optional claiming (1 mile on turf, 4:36 p.m. ET)

#11 Osaka Girl (2-1 on the morning line) isn’t a frequent winner, but she has cracked the exacta in each of her last five starts and appears well spotted for victory in this allowance for fillies and mares.

Trained by Brian Lynch, Osaka Girl broke her maiden nicely over this course last winter, when she pulled clear to win by two lengths. During the summer, she placed second three times against allowance competition on the Kentucky circuit, and most recently gained the runner-up spot behind next-out stakes winner Confessing in a 1-mile event at Kentucky Downs.

Osaka Girl has been freshened since that effort and should be ready to fire a good shot Thursday.

We’ll bet her to win and play her in the exacta, with recent maiden winner #2 Good On Paper (4-1), who hasn’t finished out of the top three in her first four starts.
