Gulfstream Park is estimating a pool of more than $3 million for Sunday's mandatory payout on the Rainbow 6 jackpot, which runs from Races 6-11.
Here's a pre-scratch look at how the sequence shapes up.
Race 6
#10 SHE'S JUST QUALITY (9-5), the most consistent runner so far among these maidens, could be a potential single for some folks off a neck loss against similar. #5 PSEUDONYM (5-2) has several lengths to find on that rival from their last start, but wouldn't be surprised is she did, especially if she finally shows an ability to settle in the early stages for the high-percentage Saffie barn. #2 HUMOR ME DIXIE (9-2) hit the gate at the start when last trying the turf, but usable off debut over the surface last summer.
Race 7
#6 HARPER GO LUCKY (5-1) re-claimed last out by Collazo, for whom he finished a solid second two back at this level. Zayas back, too. #4 FLAWLESS MOON (9-2) a non-threat last time after an early bump when going longer. Otherwise a consistent player who might appreciate the return to a sprint. #3 WICKED TEMPTATIONS (12-1), slow in starting last time, drops a touch in claiming price and could improve off okay comeback from a layoff two starts ago.
Race 8
#9 CATHARSIS (5-2) and #11 HEIR BULL (9-2) both show wins at this level versus open company in recent starts and either of their bests look good enough against these. Catharsis enters off a freshening dating back to mid-May, while Heir Bull capable of better after getting off to a rough beginning last time.
Race 9
#2 CAPE TRIOS (3-1) was off slow but came on late to nab fourth in June 14 comeback from a five-month spell. Capable of showing more speed here, and notably 1-for-4 on dirt having spent a vast majority of his career on Tapeta and turf. #5 SWEETLY MAID (9-2) outrun lately against better, but could find these more suitable company. Return of blinkers might also help, too.
Race 10
Not sure what happened last time, but #8 KELSEY'S CROSS (7-5) is the general class of the field with multiple graded stakes placings to her credit. A re-run of her try two back in a Florida-bred stakes would be good enough. However, if latest more an early sign of a downward trend in form for the favorite, #7 LOVELY LUVY (9-2) perhaps has a chance to pull a mild surprise stepping up in class off an open allowance win in start two for Joseph.
Race 11
#4 GET REWARDED (8-1) debuts for high percentage David barn and back at a more proper level after last-out allowance try for previous connections. #6 DRINKS ON ME (8-1) bid too soon and was caught in the final furlong against $25,000 optional claimers last time, a bit of form that looks relatively good in this spot. #9 AUGUSTA MOON (7-2) has been in the mix all season.
Here's the 20-cent ticket:
- 2,5,10 with 3,4,6 with 9,11 with 2,5 with 7,8 with 4,6,9 = $43.20
