Handicapping Wednesday's Show-Place-Win $1,500 split

The Show-Place-Win opportunity is back as Indiana Grand will present a pair of $200,000 grass stakes for three-year-olds on Wednesday

Opt in and become eligible to split $1,500 in cash. Place a winning $20 Show bet on Race 7 (4:53 p.m. EDT) at Indiana Grand to advance in the contest. You may bet more than one individual horse but you must have a winning wager to advance in the contest.

Next, place a winning $20 Place bet on Race 8 (5:21 p.m. EDT). You may bet more than one individual horse but you must have a winning wager to advance in the contest.

Finally, place a winning $20 Win bet on single horse in Race 9 (5:49 p.m. EDT). This time, only your first win bet will count as your contest wager.

Here are contenders of interest in the three races.

Race 7

#3 DELIGHTFULALPHABET (10-1) trailed his rivals in an off-the-turf maiden August 17 contested on a sloppy track, and a slow break did this first-time starter no favors. He has a chance to improve, though, and he takes a meaningful class drop from an open maiden special weight to a $10,000 maiden claimer restricted to Indiana-breds. Leading jockey Rodney Prescott stays up.

Race 8 -- $200,000 Caesars

This one-mile turf heat for three-year-olds could be the spot for a breakout performance by #3 CURLIN'S HONOR (5-1). The son of Curlin won three of his first four starts on dirt, then had a strong turf debut in the Paradise Creek at Belmont when he only missed by a neck to Gidu. He didn't provide much of kick facing a couple of these in the Mystic Lake Derby at Canterbury, but will be fresher and possibly stronger with Leparoux, who was aboard for the winning debut, taking the irons.

Race 9 -- $200,000 Indiana Grand

#3 BEYOND BLAME (5-2) made the lead sooner in the Pucker Up (G3) than she had in awhile, and simply lacked the sufficient late kick after racing closer to the pace than usual. Has been much more effective waiting longer to produce her run, as was seen in the Regret (G3) two back. Trainer/jockey combo are generally money here at this track.
