Friday, April 28

Race 6—Warrawee Yang; Comes off of an impressive qualifier for Mark Etsell.
Race 8—Dahlquist Hanover; Can make it two in a row.
Race 10—Nimah Franco N; Back class and ready to roll from the outside.

Power Plays

Hoosier / Races 11, 12, 13, 14

Hit the late Pick-4 at Hoosier Park on Thursday and split the $1,000 daily jackpot.
Here are our contenders for the Pick 4 on Thursday, April 27. We feel they help exotic payoffs, so consider them when building a Pick-4 ticket, as well as for single-race bets.

Race 11

Two contenders from last week’s Pick 4 surface here and need to be included. Sugar And Spite returns to the class in which she recently did best, and Big Time Barbie was dismissed by bettors, but we nabbed her huge show price and back her again with a great chance to hit the board across the board.

Race 12

Always Amazing may offer chump change, but his brief resume cannot be denied. Vel What A Star performed best around a group like this and appears to like cashing checks.

Race 13

There’s little I like better than a horse winning a qualifier with authority and speed and stepping into a pari-mutuel race against non-winners beginning to look like proven losers. Riggins Time makes the grade, is well-bred, could offer a strong price, and earned the qualifying win while improving with qualifiers.

Race 14

Again, from last week’s P-4 set, the bet-back is Pink Ruby. Third across the wire against better, she can roll home saving ground or pumping the issue wire to wire. Madisons Angel should continue to be competitive while escaping the eyes of the public.

Power Plays

Saratoga

Our contenders in the following two races are available for a personal parlay (to win, place or show) and single-race exotics for any tickets you build).

Race 4

American Wiggle was wildly successful last week at 17-1. Strong-finishing second in an overland route mile and almost beating the favorite is the key to support here. Black Edition N was also impressive with outside maneuvers while winning and looks to be in the mix but good.

Race 5

Octave is fast and off a win; deserves to be respected in the tenuous company of a claiming mile. All others are debatable for the tag amount.

POWER PLAYS

Vernon

Race 1

Grand Slam Hero is by promising stallion Met's Hall. “Hero” qualified twice due to a break and overcame it to win the second prep. She goes here with the kind of freshness we like for a season opener. Laws Of Motion broke at the start and if on gait here can race to her potential.

Race 2

Jericho Willie should top this short field and the public’s probable choice, Bluesville, increases the value of a parlay and other wagers.
