Harness Preview: Picks and Horses to Watch Aug. 10-14
Selected features, stakes coverage and the never-ending TwinSpires’ horses-to-watch list (H2W) share keys to success in exotics, win, place and show payoffs.

MOHAWK MILES
Each week, we highlight probable longshots from Mohawk Park (WoMo) in this features section. If they do not win at first crack, we add them to the H2W the following week as a bet-back while adding new possibilities to this Mohawk Miles section.
Race 6—Blue Katana; Bad post here but can race well and pay big.
Race 7—Royal Beluga; Despite interference still took third at 7-1.
Race 11—Dock Of The Bay; Ships from Rideau Carleton, must be ready.
N.Y. SOPHS TROT
Yonkers
New York-breds go for $82K-plus in two races:
Race 2—A quintet sired by only two sires in residence appears to demand an open mind, supporting outsider chances. In this case, Onion Gum may be worth the price or as a win and exotic key. He has a good spot to launch and a good win percentage, and the crowd may punish him for his winning mark.
Race 4—Two colts come from the Hambo-day features, but Kierkegaard K lost due to galloping. He was on the verge of peaking when it happened right off the gate, and we will forgive him for that, hoping the crowd does not. In any event, this is a big drop in class, and if he stays on gait there is no reason he cannot devour the other five.

DAN PATCH BATCH
Hoosier
Here is our familiar stalwart pacing crew with a few state-breds in the $310K event.
From the inside, Abuckabett Hanover returns after a rotten trip in the Haughton that sent him to a qualifier where he proved fitness, and he should show his overall class here. Hope to get the 8-1 morning line on him.
Don’t count out Charlie May, the Midwest wildcat who won the Haughton at 31-1 and did not bounce next race, which he won. The 10 hole should not bother him, but you may want more than 3-1 on him.
H2W LIST
Horses to watch (H2W) are strong contenders evaluated from overnight-race charts (including qualifiers), replays and trainers’ current win percentages. Each horse appears in two consecutive lists if it does not win on its first listing.
H2W horses are suggested for win, place, show (across the board) wagering and are to be included in exotic combinations.
Exactas listed in H2W results reflect an H2W horse finishing second to a race favorite or if the first two finishers were on the list, when an asterisk appears for cold exactas. The note “ok” determines prices are correct when a show price exceeds the place price or all three prices are identical.
Some results reflect horses racing after preview blog posts and appear the following week. As well, some horses will not appear a second time when their first time is followed by a race at a non-parimutuel fair. They will get a second time on the list when returning to a betting race.
