MOHAWK MILES

Each week we highlight probable long shots from Mohawk Park in this features section. If they do not win at first crack we add them to the H2W the following week as a bet-back while adding new possibilities to this Mohawk Miles section.

Race 1 — #1 Belvedere Bronx (10-1): Good mile at 48-1 is a clue for a good trip here.
Race 4 — #4 Barroom Brawl Boys (10-1): Early foot, dueled, short in stretch at 68-1.
Race 8 — #4 Chedda Chedda (2-1): Bet-back in Blizzard Series.
Race 10 — #7 Greystone Treasure (3-1): Strong outside trip into stretch.

FEATURES

Monticello, Race 3

#4 Calvery Hill (7-2) remains worth the tag while returning from a 34-1 finish third. Fog only allowed one call in the mile; Calvery Hill was fifth in line before being swallowed by more fog along with the rest of the field. Somehow, he saw he way clear to make up ground and gain on the leader. A visible trip or not today, Robin DiBenedetto’s pacer could roll away and win this.
#1 Nothing Tosee Here (5-2) is the obvious danger, just missing last time.

POWER PLAYS

The Meadows, Races 1, 2, 3, 4

Let’s take a shot on crushing the Pick 4 at the Meadows since we like some probable longshots to make the exotic a strong-paying play. Consider them win, place and show bets as well and add them to any ticket you create.

Race 1 — #4 HP Maestro (7-2): Beaten favorite returns without Dave Palone and could pay better winning. #7 Romanee Blue Chip (15-1): Should race better than his odds and hit the toteboard at a price.
Race 2 — #3 Priceless Shadow (9-1): At the level she races best and offers top price.
Race 3 — #2 Talladega AS (9-1): Expect a big mile off second-after-drop mile near win.
#5 Starlit Thiswanman (7-2): Beaten favorite at a better price has a great chance with a better journey.
Race 4 — #6 Day To Bet (9-1): Toss out last race’s stressful overland journey for top price.

In post position order, here are our three top contenders for single- and multi-race exotic plays.
