Thursday, February 23

MOHAWK MILES

Each week we highlight probable long shots from Mohawk Park in this features section. If they do not win at first crack we add them to the H2W the following week as a bet-back while adding new possibilities to this Mohawk Miles section.

Race 1 — #4 Kaboom NL (6-1): Returns after a short rest to do his best.
Race 4 — #6 Bad Eye Bill (8-1): bet-back set for a better mile than last time.
Race 7 — #8 Thelegendcontinues (10-1): On stride he continues to be dangerous.
Race 9 — #6 Bella Cavalla (7-2): Deserves another chance.

POWER PLAYS

Batavia Downs, Races 1, 2

We are looking at exotics in the opening pair of races where one bet-back from the H2W meets a new addition; they are our main contenders having us looking to ignite single-race exotics and/or the multi-race Daily Double and self-made Parlay for wins.
Race 1 — #6 Way To Go Fabieo (12-1): Burned out early in a duel and faded as a co-choice.
Race 2 — #2 EY Cowboy (7-2): Raced evenly at 29-1 to get third for top trainer Joseph Skkowya.

FEATURES

Meadowlands, Race 11

In a race of scramblers last week, #2 Nylander raced well, showing two moves that afforded the 31-1 shot a finish in fifth of 10 trotters. This week the strong earner could spare a move with a good, early spot and use the leftover energy to storm home first.

Meadowlands, Race 12

#2 Incredible Badger was impeded at the start last week and yet managed to maintain a good pace into the stretch with poor backing at 77-1. Forgive that losing trip but respect it this week—anywhere this one hits the board is bound to produce profit.

FEATURES

Pocono, Race 9

Challenging a 2-1 favorite last week, #7 Dillinger (6-1) lost by a nose at odds of 38-1 in a grinding mile maneuvered from post 8. He faces that race’s winner again and a similar trip could reverse the noses this time and reward backers. The primary threat, though, will not come from last week’s foe but from #3 Thanos (3-1), a beaten co-favorite for Travis Alexander.
