Each week, we highlight probable longshots from Mohawk Park (WoMo) in this features section. If they do not win at first crack, we add them to the H2W the following week as a bet-back while adding new possibilities to this Mohawk Miles section.

Thursday, June 22

Race 5—Godiva Shadow Girl; Fiery closing at 26-1 for a place finish.
Race 7—Stonebridge Drama; Huge mile at 36-1, comes right back.
Race 9—Villefranche AS; Georgian win, possible step up surprise.

POWER PLAYS

Hoosier — Thursday, June 22

Here are our contenders for the Pick 4. We feel they help all exotic payoffs; please consider them when building a Pick 4 ticket as well as for single-race bets.

Race 11
This is a terrible start for a Pick 4, but it makes us like our contenders more. Last week, Bluebird Alibi was an astounding 70-1 with early intentions of participating in the race in the form of a short duel, but then, showed nothing. She’s not as bad as those odds indicate, as she may prove hitting the board here. Little Jolena has a few excuses over her most recent efforts so don’t be surprised if she’s a part of payoffs here.

Race 12
Maybemabel may be obvious but still offer some value. Walkin On Sunshine raced well enough to endorse again, especially among this group of motley mares.

Race 13
Luckiestmanalive had no excuse to race so badly, so we’ll call it a clunker and use him off of a June 8 win against better than these. Call Out My Name is in good shape and a good trip from post 10 makes him dangerous.

Race 14
Tellittoella flirts with winning while picking up checks whether people are betting or not. She’s up for the outside start.

FEATURES

Yonkers — Friday, June 23

Race 1
The first of the two MGM Filly Pace elims ($20k) for sophomores features Bret Pelling’s Earthwindfire; tons the best at Monticello and Silky Stride put in a brave mile to finish second there. We, however, look for a price in the six-filly field with Lisa Lane. She won at Philly and could be a storm on the half-mile.

Race 2
Only five fillies here and we’ll take the lone daughter of Huntsville, Turn On The Charm, off of her Monticello win.

Race 6
The first Yonkers Trot (YT) elim ($40k) presents seven sophomore colts. Value comes from the Cantab Hall colt Manclane, on the board first or second in four starts, is getting better.

Race 7
The second YT elim deserves an outsider win as the two inside post colts look to duel it out and leave a few steps for Country Dagger. She’s a hot Crazy Wow colt that could benefit from the fiery speed in front of him.

Meadowlands — Saturday, June 24

Graduate legs bring together four-year-old trotters and pacers.

Race 6
In the sole division for the horse pacers ($75k), the fractions will be fast, and this time, Cool Papa Bell doesn’t break and closes on the other seven. His race last week was super considering he busted off the gate.

Two pacer divisions ($50k) are next.

Races 8, 9
In the first pacing field, most come from a disjointed Grad leg hard to measure. Thus, we’re going to take a shot at Ron Burke’s Birthday; this guy would not be racing with these if he didn’t have gallons in his tank yet to be used.

In pacer field round two, we like Trendy Teen coming off a fine mile with two moves and more left to offer.
